World Expo 2019

The World Expo 2019 aims to bring the representing countries of the United Nations to
the students. To achieve this, the expo will showcase the pride of the different representing
country through different categories namely; Food, Cultural Dances, Country’s promotional
video, Cultural Dances, National Costumes. The expo may use themes such as; festivals, social
event, and national celebration of the assigned country.
Objectives:

 Create an exhibition of cultural artifacts present in the country assigned through a themed
exposition.
 Introduce the culture, pride, and trademark of the representative countries of UN through
the following categories:
(1) Country’s promotional video,
(2) Cultural Music,
(3) Cultural Dances, and
(4) National Costumes
 Demonstrate fluency in communication through the English language, and expertise in
promoting the assigned representative country as tour guide to touring students

1) Promotional Video
Guidelines:
1. The promotional video in a form of a vlog or a virtual experience, shall serve as aid to
the assigned Tour Guide to promote the country they are presenting at the expo.
2. The video shall contain any of the landmarks, persons, events, and trademark of the
country they are representing.
3. The promotional video shall not be less than 3 minutes and shall not exceed 5 minutes.
4. It must be an original work. Borrowed videos, music, and pictures online must be
acknowledged at the end credits of the video.
5. The narration and explanation of the video must be done entirely by the tour guide.
Criteria for Judging:
Value of Information 40%
Information provided from the video and by the tour guide.
Production Quality 25%
Creativity 25%
Entertainment Value 10%
Total of 100%

2) Cultural Dance Category


Guidelines:
1. The cultural dance shall comprise of a minimum of 6 members and a maximum of 8
members who will present a traditional or modern dance of their assigned country.
2. The dance presentation shall not be less than 3 minutes and shall not exceed 5 minutes.
3. Dancers’ attire muelsakst present cultural relevance to their assigned country.
Criteria for Judging:
Cultural Relevance – 30%
Synchronization 25%
Creativity – 20 %
Costume – 15%
Projection – 10%
Total – 100%
3) National Costumes – Mr. and Ms. UN
Guidelines:
1. Each country must have representatives for Mr. and Ms. UN.
2. Each participant must:
a. Fully represent the country by wearing its national costume;
b. Hold a flaglet of the country being represented; and,
c. Must have knowledge and understanding on the national costume worn, and its
relevance to the nation’s culture.
3. Criteria for judging for Best in United Nations Costume (boy and girl categories) are as
follows:
Adherence to costume requirement of the 40%
country being represented
Understanding of the National
Costume’s Relevance to the Nation 25%
Communication 20%
Confidence & Appeal 15%
Total 100%
5) Tour Guide/ Expo Faciitators
Guidelines
1. The student/s must wear an appropriate tour facilitator attire related to their country. 
2. The student/s must prepare his/her own description of the destinations. 
3. The student/s must be able to create and maintain a safe environment for all to be engaged
in the discussion. 
4. The student/s must be able to have an ability to stimulate interaction towards the
audience/tourist. 
5. The student/s must include words or expressions from the country they represent.
6. The language use must be in English.
