Evidence: Life from a wheelchair

1. What does Ashley do for a living?

Ashley sings for earn money.

2. How does her condition affect her daily activities and how does she deal

with it?

It is difficult for her to write fast and due to the weather, she takes much

longer to get to class. She tries not to pay attention to people's pitying

looks.

3. What is her attitude towards life? Does she feel disabled from certain

activities?

She is a very positive person. It is capable of swimming and people are

amazed at its capabilities. She is able to move around in her room. If she

hadn't had that positive attitude towards life, She would have failed in all

the situations that come her way on a daily basis. Due to her condition,

she cannot perform certain activities such as running. Her parents have

been her greatest support.

4. How would your life be different if you were handicapped and had to use a

wheelchair? What would be different for you? (Use mixed conditionals in the

answer).
If my body did not function normally, my life would be completely

different, for many activities we need our limbs. But surely I would

adapt and try to exert myself much more to have a better quality of life.

5. How do you react when you have to interact with a handicapped person?

I always act normal with a lot of respect. I try to be helpful because at

some point they will surely need my help.

6. How can you contribute to improve the life of handicapped people?

I can contribute to improve the lives of people with disabilities, with my

service in the things they may need. People who have disabilities are an

example of strength and resilience in the face of difficult situations that

they have to experience.
