FIFI System Operation

Operating the system:

1- Make sure that By-Pass valve and overboard valve are open.
2- Make sure engine mode selector is on normal mode.
3- Engage 24 V circuit breaker at bridge “24V distribution” panel.
4- Engage 220 V circuit breaker at “Nautical equipment” panel.
5- Engage 440 V circuit breaker at “Main switch board”.
6- Switch FIFI panel selector “System operation” from “Stand-By” to “On”.
7- Check operation for suction and discharge valves.
8- Reduce engine speed to 400 rpm, switch engine mode selector to
“St.By”.
9- Open suction valve, wait until indication led stop flashing and valve
open led is on.
10-Engage FIFI clutch, wait until indication led stop flashing, clutch led is
on and ready for FIFI led is on.
11-Wait until water comes out of FIFI monitor.
12-Open discharge valve, wait until indication led stop flashing, valve
open led is on and water jet increase.
13-Switch engine mode selector to “FIFI” mode.
14-Control direction and height of water using joy-stick.
15-Control water jet to spray using the selector beside joy-stick.
16-Water jet can be increased by closing overboard valve.
17-Only STBD side monitor has flow control reducer.
FOAM system:
1- Open FOAM suction valve.
2- Open ejector valve placed on FIFI discharge line.
3- Use flow control valve to control the FOAM flow.
Stopping the system:
1- Open overboard valve.
2- Switch engine mode selector to “St-By” mode.
3- Clutch out FIFI pump.
4- Close discharge valve.
5- Switch engine mode selector to “Normal” mode.
6- Close suction valve.
7- Switch FIFI panel selector “System operation” from “On” to “Stand-By”.
8- Open drain valves for the system.
9- Disengage all circuit breakers.
