PSDC ENGINEERING CERTIFICATE ASSESSMENT: (CLO:)

Assignment 1

Please write a report on how to identify colour coding of

4 bands, 5 bands and 6 bands resistors. Give one example
for each type. The report need to be typed out using
“font” Calibri (Body) 12. The report need to include
introduction, discussion and conclusion. The
explanation need to be brief and clear and is able to make
the reader fully understand the values, tolerance and
resistance value of the resistors. You are allowed to
extract information from internet, but use your own word
to write.

PSDC ENGINEERING CERTIFICATE ASSESSMENT: (CLO:)

Based on the circuit in Figure 1, you are required to construct two additional circuits as shown in Figure 2
and Figure 3 for carry out the following :

a. Select the components in table 1 according to your group. Construct two multisim
drawings each on Figure 1 and Figure 2 or Figure 3. Measure the voltages and currents
in each multisim diagram (Current , I 2, I1 I3 and V2 Only. This drawing can be prepared
together with your team members. (Simulation)
b. Calculate the current I1, I2 & I3 using Branch current analysis method by making use of the
current assigned for you. Later solve for voltage V2 (Calculation)
c. Use Mesh Current Analysis Method to solve for currents I1 and I2 already assigned for
you. Later solve for voltage V2. (Calculation)
