James Bowie High School (AISD)– Student teacher; Austin, TX September 2020 – Present
 Virtually managed two classes of French II, total of 48 students. Classes last 90 minutes each.
 Created blended lessons of synchronous and asynchronous learning to facilitate online learning.
 Designed daily lesson plans and formative and summative assessments for one 4-week unit and one 6-week unit.
 Encouraged students to engage in cultural comparison by building lessons around practices and perspectives in the
francophone world relating to fashion trends, daily routines, and summer activities.
 Increased overall student proficiency from novice mid to novice high within a 6-week period.

Austin Chinese Education Services – Debate and ELA teacher; Austin, TX January 2019 – August 2020
 Taught 90-minute weekend and summer classes with approx. 12 students each, with classes comprised of native English
speakers and ELLs.
 Supported ELLs by differentiating instruction and applying ESL strategies in my classroom (such as pre-teaching vocabulary
and using sentence stems).
 Created curriculum and daily lesson plans for four levels of speech and debate classes, with 3rd to 8th grade students.
 Formulated curriculum and daily lesson plans for fundamental grammar, writing, and critical reading classes, with students
ranging from 3rd to 6th grade.
 Integrated hands-on, explorative learning in the classroom. For example, using textured objects to help tactile learners
include descriptive adjectives and figurative language in their writing.
 Transitioned to online synchronous learning beginning March 2020 and ending August 2020.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Frenchville Dialect Project – University of Texas Department of French Linguistics; Austin, TX June 2018 – August 2019
 Assisted Dr. Barbara Bullock in building a linguistic corpus for a dialect of French spoken in Frenchville, Pennsylvania.
 Transcribed, annotated, and time-aligned 10+ hours of audio recording using ELAN software for use in academic research
and corpora.

NOVA Academy – Volunteer Coordinator; Dallas, TX April 2016 – August 2016


 Organized the creation of a library at NOVA Academy, a Title I school with 300 students.
 Solicited 4,000 book donations, implemented new library systems, and supervised 25 high school volunteers.
