METHODS SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES USE TO HELP

STUDENTS FIND SUITABLE JOBS.

The main target while studying is becoming a worker, an excellent one. In order to achieve
that, students need a mixture of qualification and training. It is said to be one of the most
controversial issues of the last decades because experts do not agree.

Students are supposed to learn the theory first and then how to apply it. From this point of
view, Schools and Universities are committed to provide students with courses and
qualifications since it is part of its own prestigious. For most of employers, having studied in
one of the most known Universities is a guarantee of success. While I understand this
viewpoint, I do not entirely share it. I believe that not everybody can afford going to an
expensive university and whether you have studied in a prestigious university or not shouldn’t
be a drawback.

It is often claimed that it is hard to find a job when people have no experience. That is the
main reason why universities offer work experiences programmes. These not only help
students to know in more detail about the job but also to get involved in the work life. More
and more companies employ students who are part of the programmes because they have
noticed the importance of training while working, they see it as an investment for the future.

I would therefore argue that the best way to help young people find suitable jobs is to offer
them the opportunity to develop their skills in a practical way, having a mentor while working.
