Activity guidelines and evaluation rubric – Task 4: Speaking
task forum and practice session.

1. Activity description

Type of the activity: Group - Collaborative


Evaluation moment : Intermediate at Unit 2
Activity higher score: 90 grades
Activity starting date: Activity deadline: lunes, 16 de
viernes, 23 de octubre de 2020 noviembre de 2020
In this activity, it is expected to achieve the following learning
results:
The student will be able to describe orally experiences and facts or
dreams, linking phrases with fluency, self-confidence, vocabulary, and
pronunciation in an interview developed with the tutor by skype.

The activity lies in:

Check out and study the online content of the module 5 and Module 6
which are located in the E-book of Learning Environment.
Stage 1: Develop the module activities.

Develop the activities of module 5:


 Topic 3. Reviewing past participle form of irregular verbs,
 Topic 5. Comparing past simple and present perfect
 Topic 6. Read the following information about these
famous people
 Topic 7. Connecting the past and present using for and
since

All the practices are to study the use of Present perfect.

Send and share the 4 screenshots of the activity of module 5 in the


Discussion Forum - Unit 2 - Task 4 - Speaking task forum and
practice session.
Stage 2. Record a video.
Think and choose an unusual situation you have had in your life, it can
be good or bad, and talk about your experience using sentences in the
present perfect. (The situation can be to ride a horse, jump out of a
plane with a parachute, go to a foreign country, eat octopus or rat, surf
high waves, etc).

This situation has to be showed through a video, with the recommended


structure. Take into account that verbs must be in past participle.
You can record the video with the tool that you decide (cellphone,
camera, and computer) and to upload it to You tube, Vimeo, loom,
screencast or any tool that allows you to do it, with the purpose to
obtain a link.

You must share the link of your video in the forum.

Stage 3: Post your video link in the forum.

Each student, individually must publish his/her link video in the forum.
You don´t have to upload files to the forum, you only send the link, with
a short explanation about what about is his/her experience. So your
teacher and partners can watch it and send to you the feedback.

Is necessary to use images as an illustration of what you explain.

To have in mind: If you upload your videos on time at least a week


before the activity closes, you will have the chance of the feedback from
your tutor and you can improve your video uploading it again to have a
better score.

Stage 4: feedback
Each student must send his/her feedback to his/her partner’s video in
the collaborative forum. It must help to improve the contributions and
help to correct the mistakes. Each student must send at least one
feedback.

Note: In case a student has sent his/her contribution on time but any
other one has sent his/her participation. This student must send a
message inviting the group member to participate and signing the due
dates of the activity, besides can send a motivational message as a way
to encourage the group member’s participation.

Stage 5: send your final task


The student must upload a PDF document with four screenshots of the
activity of module 5. Besides he/she must add the link of the video. This
PDF document must contain cover, name, link of the video.

Stage 6: Interview
Each tutor will send a Drive file to the students by internal mail of the
course, in which each student has to register previously to present an
interview with his/her tutor by skype. For this interview the student has
to register previously, choose a date and an hour in which he/she will
develop the interview.

Each student has to have skype count and write it in the drive file sent
by the tutor.

In the interview each student has talk about the experience he/she has
recorded and has sent by the forum, and he/she must answer questions
about the experience that the teacher will do to the student.

Take into account the following questions:

Has the experience been good or bad? why? Explain.


Where has the experience developed?
With what people have you been in the experience?
What has impacted you from the experience?
Would you like to repeat it?

Some possible questions to answer in the interview are:


1. How many countries or cities have you been to so far? Which ones?
2. Tell me about the most unusual food you have eaten in your life.
3. What’s the best movie you have seen so far?
4. What’s the worst movie you have seen to?
5. Have you met a famous person?
6. What’s the best concert you have been to?
7. Have you ever broken a part of your body?
8. What’s the most dangerous sport or activity you have done?

Note: Is necessary that the student publish his/her video and all the
practices before to the interview. It is the way the student prepares for
the interview. In the interview, the student has to use the present
perfect to answers the questions.

The student is responsible to register for the interview on time.


With a week to close the activity, the teacher will not answer for the
interview space. For that reason, register and keep a space previously.

To develop this activity, consider:


At initial information environment, you must check the agenda out
to verify the opening and closing of the task.
At evaluation environment, you must upload a word document with
the screenshots of the activities developed in module 5 and the link of
the video required in the guide.
At learning environment, you must check out and study the online
content.
Enter to the forum and participate with your screenshots and your
video in the development of the collaborative task.

Individual work evidences:


The individual evidences to submit are:
-Participation in the forum with the instructions given in the guide.
-Practices of Module 5.
-Link of video in Present perfect.
-Participation in the interview with his/her tutor by skype.
-Final task sent by Evaluation environment in PDF document with
the screenshots of the activities developed in module 5, and the link of
the video required in the guide.

The groupal work evidences to submit are:
The feedback sent to the partners according to his/her video in the
forum.
2. General guidelines for the development of the evidence to
submit

For evidence developed Individual, consider the following


guidelines

 Every member of the group must participate with academic’s


contributions in the activity development.

 Before delivering the requested product, all the requirements


indicated in this activity guide must be checked.

Take into account that all individual or group written work must fulfil
with the orthographic rules and presentation conditions that have been
defined.
Concerning the use of references, consider that the requested work in
this activity must fulfil with the standards APA
In any case, the standards of reference must be complied. Academic
plagiarism must be avoided. Students can support the written
products by using the Turnitin tool found on the virtual campus.

Consider that In the agreement 029 of December 13, 2013, article 99,
it is considered as offenses that undermine the academic order,
among others, the following: literal e) “Plagiarism, that is, submitting
as of its own authorship the all or part of a work, document or
invention made by another person.

It also implies the use of quotes or false references, or proposing


quotes where there is no match between it and the reference ”and
literal f) “Reproducing or copying for profit, educational materials or
results of research products, which have intellectual rights reserved
for the University.

The academic sanctions the student will face are the following:

a) In cases of academic fraud demonstrated in the respective


academic work or evaluation, the grade that will be imposed will be
zero points without prejudice to the corresponding disciplinary
sanction.

b) In cases related to plagiarism demonstrated in the academic work


whatever its nature, the qualification that will be imposed will be zero
points, without prejudice to the corresponding disciplinary sanction.

is clear, with good sound and understandable with minimal or no
pronunciation errors. He/she develops the activities of module 5
and sends the screenshots required in the guide, besides he/she
talks with the tutor considering the information given in the guide
in the interview by skype.
If your work is at this level, you will get from 25 points to
30 points
First evaluation
Medium level: The student records the video talking about
