Analysis
With the estimated expenditure and return we anticipate spending $9350 and
getting a return of $30,000. However the actual expenditure was $9130 and
return $22,000. Therefore there was an over estimated expenditure of $120. We
estimated a yield of 250 lbs of cucumber at $120 per lb, however the actual yield
was 220lbs which was sold for $100 per lb. Therefore we made a short fall of
30lbs on cucumber yield, with a decrease selling price of $20 per lb.

General Comment
The project was very easy, because the weather was suitable and we got
maximum production.

Conclusion
Although there was an over estimation on expenditure and a short fall on yield,
we made a profit of $12,870. This lower profit was as a result of selling the
cucumber $20 less than was estimated. The fact that we made a profit makes the
project a successful one.

Recommendation
Doing this project has allowed me to equip myself with the requisite knowledge
and skill for my future. I strongly recommend that this school base assessment
should continue so that student can benefit by improving their skill and
knowledge.

Analysis
With the estimated expenditure we anticipated to spend $134,400 and a return of
$192,000. However the actual expenditure was $133,800 and a return of
$169,600. There was an over estimated expenditure of $600. We estimated a
yield of $1,200lbs of chicken to be sold at $160 per lb. However actual yield was
1,060lbs of chicken which was sold for $160 per lb. however we had a shortfall of
140lbs on yield but our selling price was as anticipated.

General Comment
Over all, the project was a success. We learnt how to care for baby chicks and also
the importance of proper sanitation of the poultry house. We also learnt how to
prepare the brooding area and also the growing area. It was made clear to all the
students that the word “Brooding” means to provide artificial heat for baby
chicks.

Conclusion
It was anticipated to get a total return of $192,000, but we had a short fall on
what we anticipated, because the actual yield was less than anticipated. We got a
return of $169,600. Although we had a shortfall of $22,400 we were still able to
make a profit of $35,800. Therefore the project was a success.

Recommendation
On completion of the project it was evident that it was a successful one, therefore
I would recommend that this activity continued to be a component of the S.B.A
activity for future students.
