1. Identify and differentiate the different types of cloud computing.

Cloud computing has two aspects in which, first, it can be classified
according to deployment model, and second, according to service model. The
types of cloud computing according to deployment model are the following:
Public Cloud, Private Cloud, and Hybrid Cloud. On the other hand, the types of
cloud computing according to service model are Infrastructure as a Service,
Platform as a Service, and Software as a Service. Public Cloud is the type of
cloud computing in which the data centers are shared with other organizations
where the whole computing infrastructure is located on the premises of a cloud
computing company that offers the cloud service, while Private Cloud is hosting
all your computing infrastructure yourself and is not shared and the security
and control level is highest while using a private network but it tends to be more
costly. Lastly, Hybrid cloud is using both private and public clouds, depending
on their purpose where you host your most important applications on your own
servers to keep them more secure and secondary applications elsewhere. IaaS
is the most basic category of cloud computing services that allows you rent IT
infrastructure (servers or VM’s) from a cloud provider on a pay-as-you-go basis,
PaaS refers to the supply an on-demand environment for developing, testing,
delivering and managing software applications, and SaaS is a method for
delivering software applications over the Internet as per the demand and on a
subscription basis.

2. Summarize in not more than six (6) sentences, the beginnings of SAP
Business One.
On April 1, 1972, five former IBM employees –Dietmar Hopp, Hasso
Plattner, Claus Wellenreuther, Klaus Tschira, and Hans-Werner Hector –
started the company SystemAnalyse Programmentwicklung (System Analysis
and Program Development). Their idea was to create standard enterprise
software that integrated all business processes and enabled data processing
in real time. SAP ́s founders and employees worked closely with customers –
often sitting side-by-side with employees in customers’ offices to learn their
business needs and processes. By 1975, they had built applications for
financial accounting (RF), invoice verification, and inventory management
(RM). Some of their early customers were the nylon factory belonging to ICI in
Östringen, Germany, Knoll, Burda, Linde, and Schott. The blend of real-time
data processing, standardization, and integration were the basis for SAP’s
transformation from a small German company into a global leader in business
software.

3. Identify and explain the key features of cloud computing.

The key features of cloud computing are as follows: a) Agility which helps
in rapid and inexpensive reprovisioning of resources; b) Location
independence wherein resources can be accessed anywhere except on
limitations set by company’s internal control; c) Multi-tenacity where the
resources are shared amongst a large pool of users; d) Reliability where there
is dependable accessibility of resources and computation; e) Scalability
wherein a dynamic provisioning of data helps in avoiding various bottleneck
scenarios; and f) Ease of Maintenance in which organizations have less work
in terms of resource upgrades and management as these are handled by
service providers of cloud computing.

4. Differentiate on-premise and on-cloud SAP Business One experience.

On-premise means there is an on premise installation of SAP Business
once, the accounting procedures are localized or independent, there is limited
access as it has to be within the premises of the installation, and the data
storage uses hardware. On the other hand, On-cloud means the deployment
of SAP Business One is through the internet, the accounting procedures uses
branch accounting, the means of access is remote access by the use of
internet, and the data is stored in the cloud server rather than a computer
hardware. On-premise mainly uses hardware and is focused on site while On-
cloud can be accessed anywhere through cloud and mainly uses internet.
