Ppt Students will listen to the UAE anthem.
Tr: you have to switch your Camera and Microphone off and be on time.
20 mins Tr: now we will listen to the Month of the year song.
Tr: what month is this?
Ss: October.
Tr: what date is today?
Ss: 13.
Students will listen to “7 days of the week song”
tr: what day is today?
Ss: Tuesday.
Tr: how many days we have in the week?
Ss: 7.

- Prior knowledge:
Tr: before we begin the lesson, who can tell me what we learn last class? What
is the easier way to add numbers?
Tr will give the students an example and choose one student to solve.
(55 + 32 =)

- Modelling:
Tr: let's take the attendance, please send one emoji in the chart.

Tr: you will need an eraser, math book, paper, pencil.

Tr: today we will learn how to Regroup ones as tens.

Tr: ones are always separated but tens always connected.

Tr: who can tell me, which picture means regroup? Is it the first one or the
second one? And why?
Tr: here we have 19 + 3 =

When you have ten or more ones in the ones place, we need to regroup.

Tr: first, we need to count the ones are their more than ten ones or not?

Tr: we will count the ones in the ones column.

Tr will count the ones.

Tr: yes, they are more than ten ones, so we will need to regroup.

Tr: let’s circle ten ones, now regroup ten ones as one ten and take it to the tens
column.

Tr: now we can see, they are 2 tens and 2 ones, so 19 + 3 = 22

Here another example,

27 + 5 =

Tr: now we can see that we have 2 tens so we will put the 2 tens in the tens
column, and we have 7 and 5 ones so we will put it in the ones columns.

Step 2, we will see in the ones column if there is 10 ones we will regroup the
10 ones as 1 tens.

Tr: here we go, we will count now.

Tr: we can see that we have 10 ones.

We will regroup the 10 ones and take it to the tens column.

Tr: we can see now we have 3 tens and 2 ones.

So, we will write the number of tens and ones.

We have here 3 tens and 2 ones, so 27 + 5 = 32

Let’s try this one, 76 + 7 =, how many tens and ones we have here?

Tr will solve 3 questions with the students.
