Learning outcomes: Students will be able to know some of words that have long i.
Theme: Long i.

- Describe:

On Tuesday 3 November 2020, I taught read a story about Long i. The outcome was Students
will be able to know some of words that have long i. In the lesson that I did, I was trying
achieve my time management. I put a timer in each centre in the PowerPoint. My relationship
with the students improved so I got used to the students. First, the teacher put 5 word have
long o sound. Then, asked the students to read the words. After that, the teacher gave the
students 20 seconds to think about other words that have long i. giving the students time to
think its important because, “Student-to-student interactions may also increase as they
become better able to formulate their answers. That pause of a few seconds—whether it's
called wait time or think time—can make a dramatic improvement in learning.”[ CITATION
Kel20 \l 1033 ]

- Introduction:

During the lesson I used PowerPoint, teacher presents and read the words that have long i
sound (Slide – light – night – sky – tie – smile – cry – fries) with the pictures. Then, the teacher
asked the students to gave her another words that have long i.

- Active engagement:

Teacher asked the students to open page 55. Teacher read some words for activity 2 and the
students has to circle the pictures. After that, teacher asked the students randomly about the
answer. Then teacher did the activity 3 which has pictures and number and the students have to
write the words of the pictures in in alphabetical order. Teacher gave the students 3 minutes after
that teacher asked the students to answer. Then for activity 4, they have sentence with blank the
teacher gave the students 2 minutes to solve the questions after that the teacher chose students
randomly to answer. I prefer to choose the students randomly because, “The simplest way to get
responses from all your students is to just pick students to answer, rather than asking for volunteers
or waiting for hands up. Let your students know that you will take volunteer responses, but you will
also select students to answer if the same students keep raising their hands.”[ CITATION His19 \l
1033 ]
Page 56, Then for activity 6. The students have 3 minutes to solve, they have to wrote the short and
long i words. After that, the teacher solves with them.

- Formative assessment / closing:

After finishing the activity, teacher put a quiz for the students. After they finish, the teacher solves
with them the quiz to check. Small quiz after the activity, “It is a fun way to end a lesson, while
showing the teacher if there any gaps or areas they need to cover again in more depth. Leaving the
answers open-ended can produce some great results.”[ CITATION THE19 \l 1033 ]

- Analyze:

The lesson they took on Tuesday was related to the previous lesson; in the previous lesson it
was it’s about long o sound. This lesson was linked to the lesson that they took before. First,
the teacher put 5 word have long o sound. Then, asked the students to read the words. After
that, the teacher gave the students 20 seconds to think about other words that have long i.

- Appraise:

I achieved my teaching goal which is time management. I will put a timer in each centre in
the PowerPoint.
