The Role of Collaboration When Making My Portfolio

Resume

Effective collaboration is one of the reasons that lead to writing a successful resume. When
writing a resume, it is essential to write about previous experiences and cooperation. It reflects
your personality at the workplace. Also, collaboration with MCT’s/MST’s and teachers taught
you in college will allow you to have connections you could use to ask for a recommendation
letter.

Teaching Philosophy

When writing a teaching philosophy, you are writing your beliefs that you gained as a teacher-
students. Every teacher you met, collaborated with has influenced your perspective without even
noticing it. During teaching practices working with many different teachers gives you an Idea of
what teacher you want to be in the future. What morals, strategies, and beliefs you have learned
from the teachers you worked with. And how their philosophy in teaching reflects on their
teaching and relationship with their students. Teachers who inspired you in college and outside it
and every person you met during this journey influence your teaching philosophy.

Reports and Observations

This part of the portfolio includes an observation I made and received. I would not achieve this
part if I had a poor collaboration with mt MCT’s /MST’s and peers. Scheduling the lesson time
and considering every feedback and based on that, improve the next lesson need to be taught.
Also, good communication includes observing other teachers’ lessons and asking questions to
learn about their experiences. And them being generous about it and give everything they have.
The more successful communication from both sides, the more opportunities to make .effective
lessons and receive positive feedback.
Commitment to Professional Development

Making and PDP and proceeding to achieve the goals depend on how well I have collaborated
with mt MCT and MST. First, by acknowledging the weaknesses, they pointed out. Then by
making a specific plan to improve them. It is important to let someone else who is more
experienced to spotlight them to notice my weaknesses. Because by their help, I could take their
feedback and advice to commit to my professional development plan. Sometimes, we don’t
notice our mistakes unless we had another perspective, and someone else pointed it out.

Lesson Plans

When making lesson plans, it is important to ask for the needed information like learning
outcomes, textbooks. And every other thing could help me improving my lesson plan and
applying it. The MST role is essential to assure the success of my lessons and to make proper
lesson plans. Especially that sharing a classroom with another teacher requires full respect and
communication from both sides. Working together effectively will ensure that both of us will
learn from each other's experiences, but students will work in a positive learning environment
where they are offered help when they need it.

Best Practices

Having an effective teaching practice depends on how you collaborate with MST/MCT and other
students- teachers. The environment that you create by having positive communication is what
makes a teaching practicum a successful one. Sharing ideas, strategies, and methods with each
other. And communicating with other student-teachers feedback and learn from each other’s
mistakes. The positive energy will reflect on the way you teach, and the time you spent the
school.
