In LIAF form, there are 7 types of buildings specified as follows:

1. Concrete Frame – Structure that has column and beams that forms the concrete skeleton of a
building
2. Steel Frame – Buildings that uses structural steel as a frame.
3. Timber Frame – Buildings which uses heavy timber as a frame.
4. Reinforce Masonry - Walls are either brick or concrete block.
5. Unreinforced Masonry - These buildings often used weak lime mortar to bond the masonry.
6. units together.
7. Reinforced Concrete Shear Wall - Concrete shear wall buildings are usually cast-in-place, and
show typical signs of cast-in-place concrete.
8. Composite Steel-Concrete – Buildings made up of two materials known as composite
element; steel and concrete.

And 5 types of structure list as follows:

1. Built-Up Section – Structures that are made up of built-up members connected together.
2. Rolled Section – Structures made of section that is manufactured in rolling mills that have
cross-sectional shapes and sizes.
3. Pre-cast – Structure that is that is prepared, cast and cured off-site.
4. Cast-in-place – Often used a ready mixed concrete truck to transport unhardened state of
concrete into site.
5. Combination – Structure that uses two or more types of technique.

For RAPID VISUAL SCREENING OF BUILDING FOR POTENTIAL SEISMIC HAZARDS Data Collection
Form has been formulated from FEMA P-154 RVS procedure to identify, inventory, and screen buildings
that are potentially seismically hazardous.

The researcher will survey, inspect and observe visually the exterior and interior of the
buildings. Based on the data collected during the survey, a score is calculated that provides an indication
of the expected seismic performance of the building.

There are three types of construction of a building indicated with a basic score: (1) Wood Frame
with a basic score of 3.8 ; (2) Steel Frame with a basic score of 3.2 ; and (3) Concrete Frame with a basic
score of 2.5. Different factors affect its earthquake resilience. As the designed by the Federal Emergency
Management Agency (FEMA) which was derived from High Risk Earthquake Zone, the acceptable score
to be derived should be minimum of 2.0.
