Guidelines for assignment

1. The assignment aims to achieve the second learning objectives (LO). Students are
expected to analyze issues of akidah obejctively.
2. Students are required to form a group consisting of four members. Each group
should appoint a team leader. A team leader is responsible for making a clear
division of tasks and reporting if any case of free rider.
3. Choose topics relevant to the course. An outline should be sent to the lecturer,
consists of a tittle, objectives, method of research and references, beforehand to
acquire consent from the lecturer.
4. Writing format and reference is based on the USIM’s Handbook on Academic
Writing.
5. Writing format: (This format must be complied with to avoid loss of marks)

• Language: English
• Font size: 12
• Font type: Times New Roman
• Line Spacing 1.5
• Citation system: author date.
• Page number: put the page no. in the bottom centre.
• Pages: 9-11 pages including reference list.
• The reference list comes at the end of the assignment, and should start on a
new page labelled 'References'

6. Softcopy of the written assignment be uploaded on GOALS.

7. References: use only scholarly sources such as books, academic journal articles,
and published expert reports as well as interview.
8. Marks allocates for this assignment is 20%.

Clarity of Objectives 5 – High, Avergae 3-4, Low 1-2

Reliable Methodology 5 – High, Average 3-4, Low 1-2
Written Ideas 5 – High, Average 3-4, Low 1-2
Formatting 5 – High, Average 3-4, Low 1-2
Total 20 marks

9. Plagiarism is strictly forbidden and invalid and will not be awarded any marks. Quotes
words, writings and views should be given recognition source of reference.
10. Group Presentation aims to achieve the second learning objectives – to present the
underlying issues of akidah objectively.
11. Marks allocate for presentation is 10%.

Divison of marks for presentation:

Creativity & Media Presentation 3 - High, Average 2, Low 1

Ideas & Resolution 4 - High, Average 2-3, Low 1
Group work & Team Coordination 3 - High, Average 2, Low 1
Total 10

12. Presentation is using MS Power Point of Video. Each group is given 20 minutes to
present their assignment and 5 minutes for Q & A session.
