Reminder for Deema: RECORD!!!!

Day 5
Students will finalize
first drafts for class
travel blog.

Students will provide

feedback for other
groups and
self-reflect.
Project Question: How can we share the places
we love in DC with visitors?
Finalizing first drafts: What does this mean?
★ All groups except E and F go to breakout rooms to continue
working
★ Group C, finalize system of equations, then swap with Group D.
I left some comments on the doc to help.
○ Group D, while you wait, go back to Desmos you may not have finished all the
way through from past classes and perfect your answers.
○ Group C, send message in Group D chat when you’re ready.
★ Groups A & B, ready to swap and solve.
Finalizing first drafts: What does this mean?
★ After solving the other group’s equation, begin writing your blog
post using the solution you found. Don’t forget graphs!
○ Model we looked at can be found here:
https://mathtravelguide.weebly.com/other-destinations.html
★ Write “First Draft:” before the content you want posted in the
Group doc. I will post them to Weebly after class.
★ If you finish the first draft before class ends, begin scrolling
through all groups’ drafts and filling out the feedback form
○ This is an individual activity.
○ Read the directions on the first page and click on the linked rubric we worked
on.
○ Fill out feedback by your name for each group and self-reflect for your own
group.
Finalizing first drafts: What does this mean?
★ Please finish providing feedback/self-reflecting before
Monday’s class (I will send a reminder in Teams)
★ Suggestion for monitoring groups:
○ Ms. Rosera: A-C
○ Ms. Ricky: D

Groups E and F, before going to your breakout rooms...

Some things I need to clear up:

★ Turns out, the way were doing it, both your variables would be
the same.
★ To fix this, start from Smithsonian metro stop and calculate
the mileage from Smithsonian metro stop to your first
destination
★ Calculate how long that would take in minutes using 6 min/mile
on a scooter
★ This is your x value. Use it to calculate cost using one
scooter brand.
Groups E and F, before going to your breakout rooms...

Some things I need to clear up:

★ Repeat the same thing from your first destination to your

second.
★ This is your y value. Use it to create a system for another
★ Use this to create your system, then swap and solve.
★ So you will be solving for how many minutes was the first trip
on one kind of scooter and how many was the second trip on
another scooter brand.
