Job Description

Preschool Principal

Creative Hands Early Childhood institution is in need of a Principal to join our roster of
experienced, motivated and effective teaching professionals. As an institution principal, you will
lead a team of Early Childhood Educators in providing quality education, holistic development
and care for children. You will be responsible for the management of the institution, the planning
and organization of the institution’s programme, as well as the development and well-being of
all staff.

Reports to the Early Childhood Commission

Minimum education and experience

Required: at least 21 years old, possess leadership qualities and management skills

Preferred: Master’s Degree in Education, Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Early


Childhood Education or a related field, two years’ experience in child care

Salary 120-150k monthly

The essential duties of a Preschool principal at Creative Hands ECI are to:

1. Oversee the planning and organization of a quality Early Childhood programme in line
with the Early Childhood Commission’s guidelines.
2. Guide staff in the holistic development and care for the children, and build a safe and
conducive environment that best meets their needs.
3. Guide and support the development and implementation of teaching and learning
experiences for the children.

4. Manage operations, which include children’s admission, finance, procurement and


administration.
5. Oversee professional development and wellbeing of staff.
6. Facilitate proactive and positive engagement with parents and the community.
7. Plan, coordinate and conduct staff development activities.
8. Perform any other duties assigned by the ECC.

Other duties and tasks


 Monitor children’s’ progress and provide children and teachers with assistance in
resolving any problems.
 Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate primary and supplemental staff and recommend
personnel actions for programs and services.
 Provide direct care to children.
 Set educational standards and goals and help establish policies, procedures, and programs
to carry them out.
 Determine the scope of educational program offerings and prepare drafts of program
schedules and descriptions to estimate staffing and facility requirements.
 Determine allocations of funds for staff, supplies, materials, and equipment and authorize
purchases.

Physical Requirements:

1. Be able to lift 30 pounds


2. Be able to bend, stoop or kneel to achieve children’s eye-level
3. Be able to sit on the floor and/or child-sized chairs
4. Be able to spend at least 1 hour at a time outdoors throughout the year
