ECI technician is responsible to carry out the job.

ECI Supervisor is responsible to verify the data collected after the


job and highlight to the ECI Engineer if there is discrepancies

ECI Engineer is responsible to validate the collected data and


initiate action if required.

7 Procedure
Technician
1. Apply PTW from F5 control center and inform the affected
party.
2. Follow the listed items as highlighted in the checklist and
perform several checks as below:
i. Ensure the motor is isolated from operation and inform
the operator. Turn “OFF” the MCCB.
ii. Check the general health of the starter, clean up dust,
tidy up the cables, retighten all of the terminals, etc.
iii. Disconnect the main supply cable to the motor to
perform a test on the starter.
iv. During the starter sequence, observe for any abnormality
such as humming, excessive sparking, contactor not
energizing, and contactor discontinuity.
v. After finish testing the starter, megger the insulation of
the motor from the cable end. Record down the
measured values onto the checklist.
vi. Connect back all the power cables and perform a test run
again and observe for any abnormality. Measure the
running current of the motor.
vii. Check that the TOR setting is appropriate according to
the motor rated current.
