1. Objective

1. To establish standard engineering preventive maintenance Engineer

procedure to determine the health and functionality of the MCU33
(Motor Monitoring unit) of the ABS submersible pumps.

2. To ensure that the MCU33 is continuously monitoring the ABS

submersible pump health and condition as well as to check whether
any alarm is activated.

MCU – Motor Control Unit

5 Responsibilities

ECI technician is responsible to carry out the job.

ECI Supervisor is responsible to verify the data collected after the

job and highlight to the ECI Engineer if there is discrepancies

ECI Engineer is responsible to validate the collected data and

initiate action if required.

7 Procedure
Technician
1. Apply PTW from F5 control center and inform the affected
party (GSP & MUS)
2. Follow the listed items as highlighted in the checklist and
perform several checks as below:
i. Check for any alarm or indication on the MCU33 LED
display on the motor starter panel. Record down the
observation.
ii. Press and hole the reset/accept button on the LED
display panel for 5 seconds and wait for all the LED’s to
light up (this means the MCU has reset) and let go of the
button. Record down and remarks if found any
abnormality.
iii. Open the panel of the motor starter to physically check
the PLC of the MCU33 and check all of the indication
on the PLC is healthy and normal.
iv. Close back all of the panel neatly.
