Function
1. Objective

1. To establish standard engineering preventive maintenance Engineer


procedure to determine the health and functionality of the Fire
Alarm Panels around the plant.

2. To ensure that the Fire Alarm Panels are healthy and functioning
properly so that they can protect the equipments during fire.

3. The check is a supplementary preventive maintenance by internal 3rd party


audit and will be reinforced by 3rd party auditor who will perform auditor
more intensive check at periodic interval.

FAP - Fire Alarm Panel

5 Responsibilities

ECI technician is responsible to carry out the job.

ECI Supervisor is responsible to verify the data collected after the


job and highlight to the ECI Engineer if there is discrepancies

ECI Engineer is responsible to validate the collected data and


initiate action if required.

7 Procedure

1. Apply PTW from F5 control center and inform the affected


party (GSP & MUS)
2. Follow the listed items as highlighted in the checklist and
perform several checks as below:
i. Check the AC power supply to the panel.
ii. Check the DC supply of the panel, measure the DC
voltage at the terminal using a multimeter.
iii. Observe any alarm indication on the panel. Record down
if any.
iv. Perform “Lamp Test”. Check for any burnt LED and
any abnormality.
v. Perform “Battery test” for 5 seconds. Record the result.
vi. Measure the DC voltage charging the battery. The
voltage should be about 27Vdc. Adjust the battery
charger card potentiometer if the voltage is lower or
higher that 27V.
vii. Check the hose & CO2 gas cylinder condition.
viii. Check the CO2 discharge indication light (Green &
Red) are in working condition, change the bulbs if
necessary.
ix. Record down any remarks at the remarks column, if any.
