Affirmative: Subject + will + verb – 1st form
Eg: I will go to the cinema.
Negative: Subject + will + not (won’t) + verb – 1st form
Eg: I won’t go to the cinema.
Interrogative: Will + subject + verb – 1st form?

Yes, I will.
No, I won’t.
2. Uses
To make predictions without evidence. (I think…, I
believe…, I consider…, I’m sure…, I probably /
perhaps…, I possibly…, I know…, I hope…, I
suppose…, I’m afraid…)
Eg: I think it will rain today.
! Predictions with evidence – are formed with ‘BE GOING
TO’
Eg: Look at Mary! She’s going to have a baby.
To make decisions on the moment of speech.
Eg: A: Are you going to come at the party tonight?
B: Ok, I’ll come.
To make promises
Eg: I will pass my exams.
To offer to do something for somebody
Eg: I will help you with your bags.
To make requests
Eg: Will you give me a lift to work?
To make threats
Eg: Leave, or I’ll call the police.
For future formal planned actions
Eg: Christmas will fall on a Thursday this year

2. Uses
To express an action in progress at a particular time
in the future.
Eg: I’ll be working at 6 this evening.
To express events that are fixed or expected to
happen in the normal course of events.
Eg: I’ll be going by bus as usual.

Uses:
To make predictions with evidence

Uses:
To express official events especially when they are
announced
Eg: The President is to visit Brussels on 5th of August.
For important instructions (usually medical ones)
Eg: You are to take 2 pills a day.
To express prohibition
Eg: You aren’t to tell her the truth.

To express timetables
