Purpose
Armageddon, the Adventure club of IIM Calcutta was the brainchild of Late Malli Mastan
Babu, who held the record of climbing the highest summit in each continent in 2006.
Armageddon emphasizes on inculcating the spirit of adventure in the campus: the will to go
beyond one's limits, to discover what one considered unattainable!
Events organized by Armageddon are designed to make their participants test their physical
limits, mental endurance and develop a team spirit. Armageddon’s events not only provide a
much needed relief to participants from the academic rigour, but also add a tinge of
adventure in their lives.
The war cry: Never Give Up, Never give in

Apart from the above mentioned events we have also planned for few more events like
treasure hunt etc. and talk sessions/seminar on basic survival instincts, experience in
Himalayas, Mountaineering etc. and it will be conducted when the students and the external
party are both free.

Recruitment (Fresh & Laterals)


EOI is float for fresh recruitment in July after the induction run on BB and Facebook groups.
Based on the number of applicants we then schedule interviews for each applicant. The
interviews are taken by core team and other interested club members. The candidate is
judged based on his interests, his previous experience in being part of any kind of adventure
activities, enthusiasm and ideas of initiatives etc. As a part of fresher’s recruitment the intake
quantity is around 40-45.

Core Team Structure & Responsibilities

President

ER & PR,
Events head Workshops Sponsorship &
head Logistics head

 President - Overall care taker of the club who should not be a part of any other core
team of any club, needs to deal with the Admin and StudC interfaces, responsible for
budgeting, scheduling of activities, recruitment, monitoring, reviews, etc.
 Events Head - should take charge of the outbound trips especially the flagship
Durga Puja Trek, Trip during Year break and TSAF Outdoor Leadership Camp.
He/She should take charge of the in-campus competitions especially Tour De Joka,
Induction Run, Treasure Hunt and a major event during Carpe Diem.
 ER & Workshops Head - should take charge of external relations and dealing with
many adventure agencies and instructors for conducting workshops and shows.
 PR, Sponsorship & Logistics - should take charge of overall publicity, coverage of
the events and content design, work in collaboration with the ER Secys and should
handle all the club forums. He/she should also be responsible for getting
sponsorships, getting the club associated with external agencies. He/she will also
lookout for all the logistics requirements in the events.
