COURSE SYNOPSIS
This course is an introduction to
Probability and Statistics for engineering
with four major areas:
Part I : Descriptive Statistics
Part II : Inferential Statistics
Part III: Design of Experiment &
Factorial Design
Part IV: Probability and Distributions

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon the completion of the course, students are
expected to be able to:
1. Analyze data from engineering and science.
2. Organize, summarize and present data by using
graphical techniques (Part I).
3. Draw conclusions about characteristics of population
based on sample data by using suitable techniques
(Part II).
4. Conduct engineering experiment involving two
factors, analyze and interpret effects (Part III)
5. Develop the probability based tools that will be used
in statistical inference (Part IV).

Please book for us (Prob stat FDM2063 SEP 2018) consisting of around 380
students:

1. Main Hall for Test 1 on 26th October 2018 (Friday) from 3pm-5pm.
2. Main Hall for Test 2 on 23th November 2018 (Friday) from 3pm-5pm.

Please book and confirm the venues as quickly as you can. It is difficult to
manage the tests for such large classes if the venues are not pre-booked.
