POWER OF MEDIA AND INFORMATION TO AFFECT CHANGE

 What are the topics you learned today?

The topics I learned today are the power of media and information and its different
effects or changes in our economy, tourism, communication, freedom of expression,
education, and politics. Besides, over the past decade, communication has always been
a personal interaction or face-to-face. With the advent of technology, it has become
easier for people to communicate and jobs have been simplified to their complexity.
Through the media, normal communication has changed and it partly affected the true
and important aspect of the basis of communication in the way people react to different
emotions, verbal cues or nonverbal cues, and even social cues.

The media in the economy helps to show the infrastructures made by the government
or even the private sectors. It also helps the industry to create revenue and expand in a
wide range. And so with the film industry or entertainment, because there is a lot of
money to be made in the movie businesses like for example the cinemas or Netflix,
etc. Also, the broadcast and prints including televisions and newspapers, mobile
communications, and the internet help to lift the economy of the Philippines from the
taxes contributed for example by Globe, TNT, or Smart.

While the media in education, it provides us, students and teachers, to share a piece
of meaningful information and gain effective learning more conveniently.

Moreover, the specific topic that captured most of my attention and concern was media
communication and media politics. In combination, social media allows civilians to
become the source of ideas and plans as it becomes one of the factors in the way
people think about issues like human rights violations, climate change, political abuse of
power, and more. Also, government officials can now utilize online connections between
them and the citizens while providing a platform for their projects.
