4th Grade Weekly Newsletter

Fourth Grade Achievers January 25th-29th Week 30

What We Are Learning


Math: This week we will continue to work on geometry. We will be learning about
quadrilaterals, and lines of symmetry. There will be a topic 16 assessment on
Friday 1/29.

Science: This week we will finish working on our current chapter on Plants and
Animals within our Life Science unit then will be moving on to our next chapter
about Matter. We will be reviewing for our Topic 6 assessment with the
assessment on Tuesday 1/26.

Social Studies: This week we decided to switch gears and learn about Inauguration
Day. We also learned about our GIANTS acronym, letter N-Never Give Up! This
upcoming week we will identify how Florida became a territory of the U.S. by analyzing
the impacts of Andrew Jackson and Jean Laftte’s pirates.

Reading: This week we finished reading “Northwest Coast Peoples,” we took our
test over what we read in the story. Next week we will start reading our next
story called “Three Native Nations.”

Writing: This week we talked worked on answering short response questions,


and we will took a practice writing FSA. Next week we will get back into writing
essays.
