CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

Technology is the sum of techniques, skills, methods, and processes used in the
production of goods or services or in the accomplishment of objectives, such as scientific investigation.
We have the technology available to us to enable the management of our daily lives and the sharing of
valuable information with our friends, families and others. It is an essential tool that we cannot avoid, it
plays an important part in the majority of our lives Technology essentially harnesses the tools,
technologies and strategies used to help us solve problems and simply make our lives better and easier to
live in some way.
Technology has the ability to enhance relationships between teachers and students. When
teachers effectively integrate technology into subject areas, teachers grow into roles of adviser, content
expert, and coach. Technology helps make teaching and learning more meaningful and fun. The most
important thing is modern technology empowers students to take ownership of their education also
essential for staying competitive, education technology often increases academic performance. Now, we
are depending in technology to teach the students and bring them a quality education because of COVID
-19.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study aims to determine technology as educational tool. More exactly in the Philippines.
1. What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of?
1.1 Age
1.2 Gender
1.3 Educational attainment
1.3.1 elementary graduate
1.3.2 high school graduate
1.3.3 college level
1.3.4 Degree holder
2. Does the technology help the students to be competitive?
2.1 Do teacher bring quality education through technology?
2.2 Positive and negative impact of technology in education?
3. What are the hindrance that affect quality education for students?
ASSUMPTION

Base from the specific question, the following assumptions are formulated.
1. The data are valid and reliable. The demographic profile of the respondents can be described
as terms of:
1. Age
2. Gender
3. Educational attainment
1.3.1 elementary graduate
1.3.2 high school graduate
1.3.3 college level
1.3.4 degree holder
2.  The inclusion criteria of the sample are appropriate and therefore, does the participants have
all experienced the same or similar phenomenon of the study.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This study focused on the technology as educational tool for the evaluation of quality
education and the benefits is important to the following persons indicated below.

Students – it helps the students to keep up, cope with the lesson.

Parents – to know the weakness and strength of their children while attending online
education to be able to improve what is needed.

Administration – know the knowledge of their students and create projects to


enhance them.

Future Researcher – get the information they need also they can use this research to
ameliorate their too.

Community – become more sociable, change for the wrong and to know their
knowledge in technology to be able to interact and to be competitive.
SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF THE STUDY
This study covers the technology as educational tool focusing to the students during the school year 2020-
2021. To know the problem that affect the students in this year because of COVID -19.

DEFINITIONS AND TERM

Ameliorate refers to make (something bad or unsatisfactory) better.

Technology refers to the branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and use of technical means and
their interrelation with life, society, and the environment, drawing upon such subjects as industrial arts,
engineering, applied science, and pure science.

Tool refers to a device or implement, especially one held in the hand, used to carry out a particular
function.

Moral lesson

Among the strongest messages that Grave of the Fireflies has to offer is that optimism is often a
luxury. We need to live our life to the fullest and spent our time with our family and keep
connected to them and create a deep relationship that last.

Moral lesson

"Grave of the Fireflies is an important film because it emphasises (among other things) the value
of life. While it depicts the irreversible tragedies and sufferings that Japanese people had to
endure during the war, viewers should also actively be asking why and how World War Two was
allowed to happen.
