PROCEDURES
1. Review/Motivations (What’s In)
On this part of module, you may ask your child to read and study words with
short /a/, /e/, /i/, /o/ and /u/ sounds in CVC Pattern.
Remember: Allow your child to give different words that he/ she encounters in
his/her day-to-day activities. You may allow him/her to write at least 3 words in
the notebook and let him/ her read these words before proceeding to the next
activity.
After your child’s brief sharing, allow him/her to answer the next activity on page
3-4
Remember: You may ask your child to match the words in column A with the
pictures in column B. Let him/ her write the answers on a separate sheet of paper.
2. Initial Activity/Discovery (What’s New)
Have the learner read and understand the story on page 5-10, entitled “My Pat, The
Cat” by Mark Fil L. Tagsip, “A Big Pin, “A Log in the Bog” by N.N. Hermosa, “My
Pet Yet” by Junrey C. Colas and “Pug the Bug” by Junrey C. Colas. Then answer the
comprehension questions that follow.
Remember: Guide your child on his/her mispronounced words in telling its proper
pronunciation.
3. Discussion of the Topic (What is it)
On pages 5-10, enough time must be given on this part of the module to read and
understand the concept of the lesson.
Remember: Let your child remember to read and write words with short /a/, /e/, /i/,
/o/, and /u/ vowel sounds in (consonant-vowel-consonant) CVC pattern correctly
4. Enrichment Activities (What’s More)
This part of the module will measure the learner’s understanding of the lesson.
Have him/her answer Activity A up to Activity D on page 12-14.
Remember: Guide your child in answering the activity. Make sure that the direction is
properly observed.
5. Generalization (What I Have Learned)
On this part, learners must be able to generalize the concept of the lesson by
answering the questions on page 15.
6. Application (What I Can Do)
Read the instruction on page 16 in making a sentence for each of the CVC words
with short vowel sounds and do it on a separate sheet of paper.
Remember: Answer shall be written on a separate sheet. Observe proper capitalization
and punctuation mark in constructing your sentence.
7. Assessment (Post assessment)
Have the learner answer the activity on page 17 to evaluate his/her learning. Have
him write the answers on a separate sheet of paper.
Remember: Parent/s must guide the child to observe proper capitalization and correct
use of punctuation marks in answering his/her own activity.
8. Additional Activity
On this part, have the learner answer additional activity on page 18 to see what
he/she had learned in this module.
Remember: At the end of this lesson, praise your child and give a reward for his/her
accomplishment so he/she will be motivated in taking another task for the next
module.

Parent or guardian shall return the module to the teacher/adviser at the scheduled date given.
