UDC 629.113.072 : 656.053.2 : 620.171.2 JAPANESE INDUSTRIAL STANDARD Maximum Speed Test Method of Automobiles JIS D 1016 = Translated and Published by Japanese Standards Association Printed in Japan UDC 629,113,072:656.053.2:620.171.2 JAPANESE INDUSTRIAL STANDARD Is Maximum Speed Test Method of Automobiles D 1016-1982 (Reaffirmed: 1993) Scope ‘This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the maximum speed test method of automobiles. 2. ‘Test Method 2.1 The condition of the automobile to be tested, test roadway, and test appliances used shall conform to JIS D 1010, 2.2 A paved road not less than 6 min width and not less than 2200 m in length shall be selected as the test roadway, of which the middle part of 200 m length shall be used as the measuring section and both ends, as entrance sections. ‘The measuring section shall be provided with marks for every 100 m. However, the 500 m sections at both ends of the test roadway may have some degree of curvature. 2.3. The automobile being tested shall be driven and accelerated in the 1000 m entrance section and given the maintained maximum speed before reaching the measuring section. However, the entrance length may be reduced where required. 2.4 The times required for running from the first to the second mark and from the first to the third mark in the measuring section shall be measured respectively and the maximum speed shall be decided. In addition, the running speed shall be measured by the speedometer attached to the automobile being tested and used as reference. 2.5. During the measuresent of the maximum speed, observation shall be conducted for the operating condition and stability of the respective parts of the automobile under the high speed conditton. 2.6 The test records and results shall be written according to Appended Table.
