Poison Attack

Is a great tool for harass on lane and great slowdown in team fights or ganks. It’s important to get
3rd level of this spell to make cool down 0 seconds, and we would be able to renew the poison on
the enemy all the time when he comes close to us.

This is interesting

 Poison Attack is an attack modifier that means it does not stack with  Desolator or 
Mjollnir.
 Damage and slow down are not stacked from new attacks, only time is renewed.

Nethertoxin

This spell makes it easy for us to last hit and make us serious rival for enemy team. That’s why in
fights we should target those enemies who have low HP first.

 It gives 2/4/6/8 damage on the start that doubles for every 20% of enemy’s lost HP.
 Gives only 50% of damage for creeps and buildings.

Corrosive Skin

Our protection. Even though Viper has not very fast move speed, this passive lets us run away from
the enemy. It works great if you would use woods or landscape, because if enemy will only make
swing without strike he will be slowed down, and we won’t take damage and will get away in the
shadows. Magical resist will decrease damage from procasts that are very scary in mid game
because of low amount of health.

 Effect is given for the attacker before his attack flies to us.
 Ability can be shutdown by Doom.

Viper Strike

Our Ultimate is a very powerful version of Poison Attack, with 30 seconds cool down on last level. It
deals 750 damage (if we do not consider magical resistance), and 5 second slowdown won’t let our
enemy escape. In midgame we should only gank if Viper Strike is ready.

 Slowdown will work on target with magic immunity.

 Can be upgraded with  Aghanim's Scepter.
 Target with Viper Strike, can be denied by its allies when HP is lower than 25%.
 Early game for Viper(up to 15 minute)

What I should do?

The best lane for us is mid; it’s easier to gank from there. We will buy 3x  Iron Branch, 
Circlet,  Tango,  Healing Salve. Those items will help us on lane, increase our
survivability, damage and mana points, and we will be able to heal if there is such a need.

If our team controls runes, then we will buy  Bottle next, that will heal us and save runes for
the time we need.  Circlet will be upgraded to  Wraith Band and buy  Power Treads,
starting from  Boots of Speed. We use it on Strength, so get more HP, because we have
enough damage thanks to our passive. If our enemy will come close we will harass him with
Poison Attack at once.

Our goal is to get 6th level fast and use Viper Strike for successful ganks. Would be great if we
have some great rune in  Bottletill that moment, like Haste Invisibility or Double Damage. If
enemy on our lane has no escapes we can kill him when he will walk on our side.

Middle game for Viper(from 15 till 35 minute)

 
  

What I should do?

On this stage Viper has different variants of development that depend on enemies and our
style of game. If we haven’t bought  Bottle then we will upgrade  Wraith Band to 
Ring of Aquila, to solve our mana issues.

Next item depends on situation. It can be  Vanguard – if we want to tank and our team
controls the map. Viper has no escape skills, and he is easy to gank. If our team doesn’t
place  Observer Ward, we should buy  Shadow Blade, to be able to escape, or find
great position in team fights and strike suddenly.

After we got 1st item we should get  Sange and Yasha that will be useful later and will solve
our problem with slow move speed. We should always try to kill enemy’s heroes, because in
case of equal amounts of gold and experience our team will loose in late.

Viper Strike should be used when our enemy has no opportunity to get away in fog, and we
have chance to hit him with Poison Attack.

Late game for Viper(from 35 minute)

 
 What I should do?

Now it’s very important to get  Manta Style. That item works great with  Vanguard – our
illusions will be tougher and won’t die so fast. There is another advantage of this item – active
ability to cancel debuffs, or evade spells that target us. Till this moment we will have Corrosive
Skin maxed up and every Health Point becomes more valuable, so  Heart of Tarrasque will
be great item to buy. This item will solve our survivability problem.

To increase our damage we will get  Monkey King Bar, and last slot is for  Butterfly. With
this attack speed  Monkey King Bar will work often and enemies won’t have the chance to
run from Viper of use teleport.

Vanguard or  Shadow Blade can be changed for  Black King Bar, because we have
enough survivability, and we usually do not have to run away or gank.

In team fight we should focus enemy’s carry, because we reduce his attack speed and move
speed a lot, and he is the most dangerous target.
