Materials, Construction and Methods of Manufacture e ‘The materials, construction and methods of manufacture shall conform to Attached Tables and the following particulars. (1) Conductors ‘The conductors shall be circular stranded wire and segmental ‘compacted stranded wire composed of tinned annealed copper wires specified in JIS C 3152, (a) Circular stranded wire ‘The circular stranded wire shall be a stranded wire laid concentrically, consists of component wires with the composition given in Attached Tables. The pitch in the outermost layer shall be not more than 20 times the pitch circle diameter, and the direction of stranded layer shall be reversed in successive layer, and shall be S lay in the outermost layer. (b) Segmental compacted stranded wire In the segmental compacted stranded wire, the component wires shall be stranded and formed each segmental conductor by compression forming, and the segmental e@ conductors shall be stranded S lay into circular form. Further, suitable insulation shall be applied between the segmental conductors. Moreover, after stranded the segmental parts, suitable binder tape may be applied. (2) Insulation On the conductor specified in (1) BP rubber shall be applied ‘concentrically in thickness given in Attached Tables. On the parts contact with conductor, however, a sultable separator may be applied. Moreover, in single core vinyl sheathed cables, suitable tape shall be applied on the insulation. For the other cables, this tape may be omitted, ‘The average thickness of the insulation shall be not less than 90 % of the value in Attached Tables, the minimum insulation thickness shall be not less than 80 % of the value in’Attached Tables. (3) Identification of Insulated Core The identification of insulated core sha @ be made by the colour of the insulation, colour of tape applied on the insulation or other suitable methods, and shall be as follows: 2 cores, Black, white 3 COTES ww... Black, white, red Black, white, red, green (4) Cabling Im mult-core cables, the requisite number of cores shall be stranded, with suitable filler, in circular form. The direction of strand shall be S lay, (The pitch of stranding shall be not more than 30 times the pitch circle diameter, for nominal cross-sectional area of conductor not more than 100 mm? only.) On the stranded cores, sultable binder may be applied. OpYTENL Dy The Topanese Indus] Standards un Jan 25 1001-09 2004 JIS Cs3b2) 87 MH 4533608 0030260 2 mm 5 C 3621-1987 (5) Sheath On the core of 4. (2), of a single core cable and on the stranded cores of 4. (4) of a multi-core cable, chloroprene or vinyl sheath shall be applied with the thickness given by the following formula: -2+0tam where +: thickness of sheath (mm) D+ inside diameter of sheath (mm) (The value shall be rounded off to the Ist decimal place, counting its fractions over and including 1/2 as one and disregarding the rest.) When the thickness of sheath Is under 1.5 mm, it shall, however, be made as 1.5 mm. e Further, as occasion demands, a canvas of approx. 1 mm in thickness may be lap wound on it. In this case the thickness of sheath shall be decreased by 0.5 mm, and the thickness of canvas shall be exclusive of the thickness of sheath. The average thickness of the sheath shall be not less than 90 % of the above value, and the minimum sheath thickness shall be not less than 85 % of the above value. ‘The colour of sheath shall be black. 5. ce ~The test shall be performed in accordance with the 5, 5.2 Construction The test shall be performed in accordance with the Tequirenient specified in 5. of JIS C 3005. 5.3 Conductor Resistance ‘The test shall be performed in accordance with the e requirenent specified Tn 8-of 31S C 3008. 54 Dintectrte Strength | The tost shall be performed in accordance with the requirement speci (1) of JIS C 3005. 5.5 Ingulatlon Resistance _ The test shall be performed in accordance with the requirement specified In 9.7 of JIS C 3005. 5.6 Tension of Insulation and Sheath The test shall be performed in accordance with the requirement specified in 18. of JIS C 3005. 5.7 Heating The test shall be performed in accordance with the requirement specific J. of JIS C 3005.
