Team-Pair-Solo Have students work in small groups to discuss the definition for a complex fraction, without
writing it down. Then have groups divide into pairs. Each pair is responsible for generating two examples and two
non-examples of a complex fraction. Then have students work individually to write the definition for a complex
fraction and generate two different examples and two different nonexamples. 1, 4

those who are struggling, while providing enhanced learning for those who have mastered the concepts.
