D. Uraian isi materi Factual Report Text


Di isi oleh peserta didik :
1. Communicative purpose / Social Function :
The main function of factual reports is to explain facts about a matter. Usually he
explained. Things that can be read with factual reports are things that are delivered from
nature or are man-made.
Its social purpose is presenting information about something. They generally describe an
entire class of things, whether natural or made: mammals, the planets, rocks, plants,
countries of region, culture, transportation, and so on.
2. Generic Structure :
 General Classification : contains general statements about the subject being
discussed.
 Descriptions : is a part that gives a detailed description of the subject discussed in
the general classification section.

3. Language Feature :
 Use of general nouns
 Use of relating verbs to describe features,
 Some use of action verbs when describing behaviour
 Use of timeless present tense to indicate usualness
 Use of technical terms
 Use of paragraphs with topic sentences to organise bundles of information;
repeated naming of the topic as the beginning focus of the clause.

4. Contoh Text Factual Report :

The Sun

The Sun is a star found at the center of the Solar System.At around 1,392,000 kilometres


(865,000 miles) wide, the Sun’s diameter is about 110 times wider than Earth’s.
Around 74% of the sun’s mass is made up of hydrogen. Helium makes up around 24%
while heavier elements such as oxygen, carbon, iron and neon make up the remaining
persentage. The sun generates huge amounts of energy by combining hydrogen nuclei
into helium. This process is called nuclear fusion.
The Sun’s surface temperature is around 5500 degrees Celsius (9941 degrees Fahrenheit).
The Sun’s core is around 13600000 degrees Celsius. The average distance from the Sun to
the Earth is around 150 million kilometers. Light from the Sun reaches Earth in around 8
minutes.
Because of the Sun’s huge influence on Earth, many early cultures saw the Sun as a deity or
god. For example, Ancient Egyptians had a sun god called Ra while in Aztec mythology
there is a sun god named Tonatiuh.

1. Setelah selesai menonton video Factual Report Text, peserta didik melakukan
analisa apa isi dan maksud video di buat
2. Apa yang di maksud dengan Factual Report Text jika ditinjau dari pengertian dan
fungsi?
3. Buatlah kesimpulan tentang Factual Report Text

F. Kesimpulan hasil Analysa Factual Report Text :


1. Pada video factual report mengenai bunga matahari, disitu dijelaskan bahwa factual
report itu menjelaskan tentang fakta fakta tentang bunga matahari, mulai dari ciri
fisiknya, habitat, manfaat bunga matahari.
2. Pengertian : sebuah teks yang mendeskripsikan suatu fenomena berdasarkan fakta.
Fungsi : untuk mendeskripsikan secara umum atau menyeluruh (to descibe something
in general).

G. Buatlah 3 kalimat bebas dengan menggunakan Grammar yang di gunakan pada Language
feature Text tersebut diatas
