1. PRESENTATION OF GUIDELINES FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FOR


AREAS UNDER GENERAL COMMUNITY QUARANTINE (GCQ)

Mr. Niel Patrick Deviña presented to the body the Guidelines for Public
Transportation for Areas under General Community Quarantine to be
implemented by the LTFRB, with reference to LTFRB Memorandum Circular
No. 2020-017.
The guidelines provided requirements to be complied with by operators and
owners of PUVs in order to operate in the Province. The requirements are as
follows:

a) On safety- Public Utility Vehicles are required to operate at a limited


passenger capacity in adherence to the one-meter physical distancing
rule. Strict observance of sanitary measures are mandatory not only
inside PUVs but in PUV terminals as well, in order to ensure the health
and safety of the drivers and the riding public.

b) Special Permit- Operators are directed to secure the necessary Special


Permit before its operation.

c) Contact Tracing- All provincial and city buses shall have a record of
pertinent information of passengers who utilized the vehicle for contact
tracing purposes. Passengers are also required to take note of the
plate number, the time and date they boarded the PUV, and the route
they took in order to expedite contract tracing.
