What I Need to Remember

Directions: In this stage, you have learned to assess yourself and what you have and the areas you need
to improve on, please put these important notes in mind:

1. Self-concept refers to your awareness of yourself. It is the construct that negotiates these two
selves.
2. The two broad categories of self- concept are actual self and ideal self.
3. The actual self is built on self-knowledge. Self-knowledge is derived from social interactions that
provide insight into how others react to you.
4. The ideal self, is the one you aspire to be. The one that you hope will possess characteristics
similar to that of a mentor or some other worldly figure.
5. The benefit of knowing yourself is important in understanding the kind of person you are and
how you are to others.
6. Focus more on your strengths and abilities.
7. Improve your weaknesses by accepting who you are and have confidence to grow up from your
limitations.
8. Show the world what you have and be proud of yourself.
