P - Good morning, look if it's not my old friend José!

(Cumprimento)

J – You still remember, that´s cool man!

P - It's been a while since I've seen you.

J - The last time I saw you was in prison.

P – It´s true!

J - So what you been doing?

P – Looking for a job.

J – Oh serious? But our past doesn't help us.

P - I'm starting again, I’m trying to change myself and I need to get a job, fast.

J – It will be hard to find, because of our criminal record.

(Pablo abre jornal)

P – I agree, but I was looking at this newspaper and I found this advertising for a job
interview.

(Pablo aponta para o jornal e mostra a José)

J – What job?

P - Building contractor and I did a little research and found out that the company is
famous for giving opportunities to people with a criminal record

J – That´s amazing when are the interviews?

P – Tomorrow morning.
J – It's a good start and we can't waste time we have to go as fast as possible!

P – We need to prepare for the interview, I'll do some research all night.

J – You are right, I will prepare myself to the interview.

Scene 2 - Wait room part (wait room):

(José chega a sala de emprego)

(Ricardo chega mais tarde)

J – You are late!

P - Sorry for the delay but I had to get charms.

J – I´m nervous. You?

P – Me too. But we need to be calm it will go well.

J -. I hope!

(Kevin entra abraçado a todas as folhas)

K - Good morning, can I help you?

(José e Pablo ao mesmo tempo respondem)

J/P – Was for the inter…

J - You can talk...

P – Ok, so… We came for the job interview that we saw in the newspaper.

K – Humm… I see …let me just put this paperwork down and I'll call you both to my
office.

(Kevin pousa as coisas na mesa enquanto José e Pablo esperam)

Scene 3 - Interview Part (Office):

K – Pablo Nascimento da Silva!

P – Wish me luck!

J – Good luck!
(Pablo entra depois de chamarem o seu nome e Kevin apressado a arrumar
papéis na secretária)

P - Good morning again, I am here for my interview.

K - Hello, nice to meet you. I'm Mr. Curtis. Have any trouble finding the place?

P - No problem.

K – That´s good. Pablo, let´s start the interview. Are you ready?

P – Yes, I am.

K - First of all, let me introduce myself, my name is Kevin and I am 47 years old. I am
the civil engineer of this company and we have open positions in our latest project, so
we have been interviewing applicants to fill the positions as quickly as possible.

P - Yes sir, I read about the position on yesterday edition of The Times, and I think I am
a good fit.

K – We currently have several ongoing projects and the team is working hard. We are
hoping to keep you busy for a long time.

P – What are the essential qualifications required for the position?

K - Just 12th grade.

P – That´s great!

K - Can you tell me something about yourself?

P – I am 28 years old and I used to work at a fast-food company and at the same time I
worked in my uncle construction company in my spare time and gained a lot of
experience in the construction area at those times.

K – That´s great! But I see in your information that you have a criminal record. Can you
explain that situation to me?

P – So, I used to be a drug dealer in the past, I used to deal in small drugs, since I
couldn't get enough money to put food on the table, so I took the risk to don´t let my
mamazita without food and clothes.

K – Ok, I think it will not be a problem, as our company is famous for giving second
chances to prisoners who recently left prison.

P – That´s so great!

K – Just one more question, why do you want this job?

P - To change me for the better and try to correct my past, and I have admired this
company’s successful strategies and environment. Your emphasis on creating a
relationship between your company and the workers have brought to the company
success. There are values I greatly admire.
K – Ok, do you have any questions for me?

P – No, I think I already know how the company works.

K – Ok I think that´s enough, thank you for your time Pablo, anything else we will
contact you!

K – Hi José, how are you?

J – Hello, I’m good, thanks for asking?

K – Any problems on the way here?

J – No, all good, by the way, the traffic was light this morning. No traffic jam and no
accidents.

K – That is good, John, shall we start?

J – Yeah, sure!

K - Before anything else, let me introduce myself, my name is Kevin, I am 47 years old.

K – Ok, José, what are your strengths?

J – In prison, I gain some discipline, I have determination, and I have full dedication to
change myself.

K – Following the way, I see that you have Criminal Record like your friend, Can you
explain that for me?

J – Of course, I used to participate in a gang, because I lived in a poor neighborhood

and for reasons of survival, I had to join the gang.

K - Ok, as I told your friend, I think it will not be a problem, as our company is famous
for giving second chances to prisoners who recently left prison.

J – That sounds great!

K – José, do you have any questions for me?

J – Sure, what's something that makes you happy about coming into work each day?

K - Clearly, the environment, people are friendly, I even have made many great friends
since I work here, and many of them are like you with bad backgrounds. The work
environment at this company is amazing. Any more questions?

J – No, I think I have a pretty good understanding of the environment of the company.

P – Are you serious?

J - I just received a message saying that I am in!

P - I did not receive anything yet.

P - I got the job, let´s get it!

J – Great, we start tomorrow, right?

P – Yeah, so I see you tomorrow at work!

J – See you tomorrow!
