Levels of Technology Integration:

☐ Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or
Choice” during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☒ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is
student-driven and student-led. Students should have “Voice and Choice” in the activities,
selecting the topic of study and determining the technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the
standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.

☒ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student
work and promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s
morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.
Your student’s projects must be shared locally or globally to meet this level.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): How will the experience support Engagement, Representation
or Action and Expression components of UDL framework.)
This activity requires students to explore content, conduct research, organize their notes, and
create a product. The students are engaged because they have to complete a final product and
they have creative control over how their product looks. The students will have their work
displayed on the class bulletin board and the best ones will be put in the hallway for everyone to
see. This will help motivate the children as well.

Lesson idea implementation:
TW provide the students with the content through a powerpoint while the students take guided
notes. Next, the padlet timeline assignment will be introduced. TW model on the board how to
access padlet, show an example, and show how to edit the padlet. TW provide the students with
books and websites that will help them find more information on the historical figures to add to the
timeline. Students should be able to know the name of the historical figure, background info on the
person, what made them a historical figure, and when. The final product will be used as a study
guide for their assessment.
Reflective Practice:
I think that this activity will impact student learning in a beneficial way. Students are engaged,
motivated, and creating a product that reflects what they have learned. To further extend this
assignment I could have students research and add 3 more historical figures to the timeline. Ipads
could enhance this assignment along with flashcards to help the students organize and remember
the information.
