Goal: By the end of the class, the students willl have identified the denouement in an oral story about

an invitation of a stranger.

Introduce the topic by asking questions as follows: 15 Minutes

To introduce the Ss into the something?. Will yo go with him/her? Will you
topic- Set the context ignore/yell to her/him?. The teacher will writte some
words on the board if need.

To develop listening skills: Ss will listen to the first part of the story. In pair they 35 minutes
Listening for gist will talk about what they understood. And son after, P.W
WHILE they will predict the second part of the story

Listening for details Ss will listen and take notes to compare their W.C
predictions.

To check students understanding T will ask Ss to mingle and compare their predictions 45 minutes
with the teacher’s help. W.C
POST To tell about personal experience Finally, the teacher will ask the students to tell any
with a stranger. personal experience with a stranger.

remember that practice can involve the other skills. They can can be asked to do writing or speaking activities; it’s up to you
which one your students will work on.

The GOAL is what your students are supposed to achieve on the WHILE-LISTENING stage.

In the WHILE or LISTENING STAGE, your as teachers, are not forced to ask your students to listen for both gist and
details. It’s your choice!
