Aims of the lesson:
By the end of the lesson the students will be able to:

- to describe what other people are wearing

Activity 1 – Warm-up
Aim: to focus attention and provide a lead-in
T greets the Ss, checks their homework.
T asks the Ss to sing the song from the previous lesson: Watch me go!”
Some Ss ask some of their colleagues what they can do.

Timing: 6 min

Activity 2 – Lead-in
Aim: to stir attention to the topic
T informs the Ss that they will talk about clothes. T writes the date and the title of the new lesson on
the board and the Ss copy in their notebooks. To elicit the meaning of the word clothes T shows the
Ss the My clothes poster.
Interaction: T-Ss, Ss-T
Timing: 3 min

Activity 3 – Presentation
Aim: to introduce new vocabulary
T points the clothing items one at the time and the Ss repeat chorally. T writes the new vocabulary
on the board and the Ss copy them in their notebooks.

Timing: 5 min

Activity 4 – Practice
Aim: to consolidate Ss’ new vocabulary
T gives each S a worksheet with the items of clothing she previously presented and stickers with the
words naming them. Ss have to stick them under the correct item. They have 3 minutes to do the
activity and then T asks several Ss to name the items. T asks the other Ss to correct if there are any
mistakes.

Timing: 5 min

Activity 5 – pre-listening
Aim: to make them aware of what thy are going to listen
T asks the Ss to open their books page 20 and look at the pictures from the text.
T asks Ss some question related to the text: What is Mona wearing? What is Emma wearing? What
are Harry and Lee doing? Ss look at the pictures and answer the questions.

Timing: 3 min

Activity 6 – while-listening
Aim: to listen for the gist
Before playing the recording, T writes this question on the board and the Ss in their notebooks:
What are Mona and Emma doing? They’re ……………………….. . and tells the Ss that after they
watch and listen to the video they have to answer that question.

Timing: 3 min

Activity 7 – post-listening
Aims: to correct pronunciation errors
to consolidate reading comprehension
T names some Ss to do the role reading. T corrects the pronunciation errors.
T reads the instructions from ex 2 page 20 and explains them to the Ss. Ss do the exercise
individually in 3 minutes and then T asks several Ss to answer and the others for verification or
correction, if necessary.

Activity 8 – Practice
Aims: to listen for details
to describe what other people are wearing
T informs the Ss they will do ex 4 page 21. T reads and explains the instruction and then orally she
asks the Ss: What is the A girl wearing? What is the B boy wearing? What is the C boy wearing?
What is the D girl wearing? And elicit the answers from the Ss. T plays the recording and Ss match
them in their notebooks. T play the recording one more time for verification and then asks several
Ss to name the children in the correct order and the others correct if necessary. After matching them,
Ss will have to describe in writing what the children are wearing as an independent work and the
report to the class.

Activity 8 – Assigning homework, giving and asking for feedback
T praises the active Ss and also encourages the others to have more courage to answer. T asks the Ss
to draw a big happy face if they liked the lesson or a big sad face if they didn’t like it.
Homework: T gives the Ss a worksheet as homework and also they will have to do a poster ( draw
themselves wearing their favourite clothes and describe themselves starting with name, age, colour
of their hair and eyes and then what they are wearing.)
