RECTANGULAR PATCH ANTENNA RADIATION
Radiation pattern lobe is towards the positive direction of Ox axis (perpendicular to antenna)
Run the Matlab script Patch2D and fill in the following tables. The beamwidth is measured
on Cartesian representations of the radiation pattern based on its standard definition: angle
between directions corresponding to a 3 dB decrease (0.707 in relative values) of the radiated
field as compared to the maximum value on the main direction. If the modulus of the vector E
does not go under the 0.707 threshold, then the beamwidth is 180o.
You should read the beamwidth in both of the planes: E (E) and H ().
Antenna length L is displayed in the control window.

B. – for each of the tables draw the curves E = f(W/L) at constant frequency (one figure
with 3 curves for each of the tables).
– for each column of one of the tables, at your choice, draw the curves E = f(f) at
constant r (one figure with 3 curves for each of the columns).
– for each of the tables draw the curves H = f(W/L) at constant frequency (one figure
with 3 curves for each of the tables).
– for each column of one of the tables, at your choice, draw the curves H = f(f) at
constant r (one figure with 3 curves for each of the columns).
