ROAD USERS PERCEPTION ON THE TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT
STRATEGY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAN LUIS

Statement of the Problem

This study aims to determine the road user perception on the traffic
management strategy in the municipality of San Luis that can be used as basis
for an enhanced traffic management system

Specifically, it ought to answer the following questions.

1. What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of;


1.1 age;
1.2 sex;
1.3 type of road user;
2. How do road users perceived the effectiveness of traffic management
strategy in the municipality of San Luis in terms of;
2.1 freeway management;
2.2 active traffic management;
2.3 freight management;
2.4 integrated corridor management;

3. Is their significant difference on the assessment of the above mentioned


variables when group according to profile variables?

4. To what extent do road users encounter issues and challenges relative to the
traffic management strategy implemented by the Municipality of San Luis?

5. Based on the findings, what recommendation may be proposed to enhance


the traffic management strategy of municipality of San Luis?

II. Road users perception on the traffic management in the

municipality of San Luis

A. Freeway Management. Freeways were originally conceived and

designed to provide continuous, free flow, high speed movement

of traffic on limited –access facilities. Freeway management

system is a primary means that transportation agencies can use

to manage traffic flow and make better use of existing freeway

system.

transportation, intermediaries, and technologies.
