Understanding the Self

END THIS SEMESTER WITH PEACE

The final class with this subject is memorable. I have lots of realization at that time.

Depression is a taker, not a giver. It eats a person from the inside out, silently,
insidiously and remorselessly until there’s not much more than a husk left. Because of
depression, any relationship can easily be dashed against the rocks of depression.
Friends, family and loved ones, depression doesn't discriminate. The most alarming
here is that it can turn you into the person you never thought you could become, and
keep you there. All the problems you have will be all yours until one day, you wake up
and you want to stop it all once and for all. Depression can take one’s life while
everybody doesn’t care or listen to you when you're having troubles with your life and
yourself. I realized that some people are stupid, they take the problem of a depressed
person as a joke. They tend to help but it’s all just a show. So, no one else is going to
lift you, you yourself have to. You need to do it all by yourself but do not commit suicide,
it is not the solution. Be strong even you are hurting inside. My perception is like you
would be empathized and supported but in the end you're all alone. Trust yourself.
Trust the process. Embrace the pain. Embrace the sadness. That’s life. No life is easy.
But you need to love yourself first. And then, enjoy your life to the fullest. Just a thought
of mine.

Thank You, Sorry, and Positive Message - All I can say is that every one of us are
willing to fix the problems, not afraid to open up the problems, not afraid to show
emotions and tears. I just realized at that time that our bond to one another is getting
stronger than before. Those problems are just problems. We have had fixed it. Well, I
guess it’s time for me to change, again. Not in a negative way, but in a good and
positive way. I don’t want to destroy any more friendship like before. I want to treasure
all my friends right now and they are all important to me. Those problems that we
experienced is just to strengthen our friendship. I will protect what I have. I will be a
better friend to them starting now. I just love them.

Let’s be honest in here, our block’s schedule has the most chilling, lenient, and very
interesting subject, none other than, Understanding the Self. This subject is our break
from numbers, formula, and stress. This is where we enjoy our life as a student and to
express our insights, feelings, emotions, and sometimes, our outlet to fixed some
problems and misunderstanding inside the class. Personally, UTS is the time where I
am very confident of my self because it does not involve problem-solving, critical
analysis, and integration of trigonometric functions using integral by parts. This subject
is my field of interest and I am confident to say that I am very knowledgeable in terms of
social sciences/ soft sciences but my passion is to become a successful Petroleum
Engineer that’s why I have to take this course first before I proceed to law school.
Anyways, I am very grateful to our subject adviser, Mr. Roi Herald Integro. Yes, UTS is
the most chilling and lenient subject this semester but among all the subjects that we
had, this subject has the most practical lessons in life that we can use in the future - all
those realizations are significant to me and it made me who I am today. Thank you to
our very kind adviser. I hope you will teach us again in the next school year.
