ACTIVITY 2.

Study the Reading on Portfolios from the Glossary of Education Reform. Based on your reading,
reflect on the following questions and jot down your answers in your Study Notebook:

1. How will your Portfolio help you in tracking the progress of your teaching practice in your School’s
LDM?

 Portfolio are meant to keep records of my progress and achievement on my teaching

practices. It keeps me on track and helps me teach with ease for I now have the
knowledge on how to incorporate MELCs on my lesson to better respond with my
student’s educational need amidst pandemics. In addition to that I am now more capable
to teach because I am now equipped with knowledge about different modalities, and has
been provided with different learning resources, both in printed and online.

 My portfolio will serve as evidence for my teaching. It will also help me improve as a
teacher for I can always make a review upon it and train myself on how to better apply
MELC's in every of my future lesson.

2. What evidence from the previous modules will help capture the progress of your teaching
practice?

Previously on module 4, I have learned about making an individual development plan where I will
be able to assess my room for improvements and good qualities in terms of teaching. One of the
best ways to improve is to realize what domain I am doing well and which domain I need to focus
more and make a development plan for that.
I believe that following evidence will help monitor my teaching practice:

 Unpacking of Most Essential Learning Competencies

 Learning task for Daily Lesson
 Weekly Home Learning Plan
 Individual Learning Monitoring Plan

3. Why is writing down your reflections an integral part of your Portfolio?

 Reflection is not just an integral part for a portfolio, it is fundamental and necessary in
everything that we are doing. As a teacher I believe that students can better learn from us
if we also believe that we still need to learn ourselves. By writing my own reflection it
indicates that I am still learning and all these efforts to make us equip with knew skill and
knowledge is not for nothing.

 On the practical note, it is necessary that we write a reflection so when the need arise for
us to recall a certain life lesson we can always come back and look into it on our portfolio.
It will also help us to feel better about ourselves realizing how much we improved as a
teacher since then.

capture the progress of your teaching practice? What other evidence can you think of that is
relevant to the LDM adopted by your School? Write down your answers and other insights in your

LESSON 2: THE EVALUATION RUBRIC

Key Topics/Concepts
evaluation rubric; LDM implementation; portfolio
ACTIVITY 1.
Study the criteria and indicators found in the Evaluation Rubric. What steps will you take to ensure
that you are able to hit the criteria in the Rubric? Write down your answers and any other thoughts
about the Rubric in your Study Notebook.
 To successfully achieve qualities required in making the portfolio, I must familiarize myself
in the practice of different LDM and make initiatives to improve it or if possible, innovate a
new one so student can have more access to education. By presenting new ways on how
students can learn in various ways we can ensure that despite this pandemic our duty as
teachers is fulfilled. I must also not forget that while student’s welfare is essential my
personal improvement as a professional must also reflect in the performance of my duty. I
need to see to it that in every session of my class my skills and abilities shows progress and
that the application of LDM does not compromise my well-being instead helping me to be
more of a better teacher, professional and a person.

ACTIVITY 2.
Discuss and share your thoughts on the Rubric in your LAC Session. Present your steps to make your
outputs and Portfolio responsive to the evaluation criteria and indicators. Take note of your
colleagues’ other insights as well.

 Upon knowing the Rubric, our group will try its best to attain a very satisfactory rating. We
should adhere to the progress of the LDM implementation, observe timeliness and quality
of reflection to become responsive to the evaluation criteria and indicators.

As a final reminder, make sure that you are able to collect the evidence of your teaching practice as
you have listed, and organize these into a Portfolio. At the end of the year, you will submit your
Portfolio to your LAC Leader, who will announce the specific date and manner of submission.
