Case Study: Usability of mobile applications: literature review and rationale for a new usability
model
Introduction:
The world is moving towards digital side and people now prefer easy access to
things.
E-commerce industry has been growing in Pakistan with time but we have
noticed one thing that the start-ups are not really working on the UI/UX of
their apps. Even if we have a look on giants of this field, we notice that their
applications are not so easily understandable. However, as more start-ups
introduced their apps, it became clearer that there are problems with the design
and structure faced by people while using these apps.
Our goal is to improve on the missing areas where we were lacking before
with the help of the article which we chose (Usability of mobile applications:
literature review and rationale for a new usability model). We are evaluating
PYE’s app on the usability measures explained in this research article like
Learnability and Memorability etc. Our aim is to make our app as simple and
aesthetic as possible so that people of any age group can use it without any
technical background. To make our work effective and efficient, we will be
creating a thorough google form for survey having very basic questions. These
questions will be designed in a way that the visitor can spend less time on the
form and give us more details we are looking for. Our main concern will be
the problems faced by these users while using any E-commerce app. Some
questions will be about the design and structure of the app. The collected data
will then be represented in pictorial form for easy evaluation. For this we will
be using three different usability models: ISO, Nielsen and PACMAD.
