I trust my students to form their own expectations for our learning

community. In my classroom, students work together to establish
norms that are based on empathy and respect. Students decide when
technology is appropriate, what kind of language to use in class, and
how to interact with their classmates. When students think critically
and collaboratively about the type of environment they wish to learn
in, they are more likely to hold themselves and each other
accountable.
