STEP Standard 6 - Analysis of Student Learning

Post-Test Data: Whole Class - Once you have assessed your students’ learning on the topic, collect and
analyze the post-test data to determine the effectiveness of your instruction and assessment.

Post-Test Analysis: Whole Class

Based on the result, the students stand on minimally proficient. The highest score that was
achieved was 677% by 7 students that mean they were able to grasp the concept partially. 3
students achieved 44%. 8 students achieved 33%. 1 achieved 11% and 1 scored zero.

After checking off post-test and analysis, I have analyzed that I will have to re-teach the unit as
the majority of my students are unable to achieve good grades. As visible in my video, I applied
different methods to solve one question and my classroom observation field notes indicated that
the majority had understood the topic/concept. However, after the result, it is evident that re-
teaching and ample practice is required especially for the 13 students who achieved below 50%.
Post-Assessment Analysis: Subgroup Selection

I have selected 10 students for sub-group as they achieved minimally proficient standard in pre-
test.
Post-Assessment Data: Subgroup (Gender, ELL population, Gifted, students on IEPs or 504s, etc.)

Post-Assessment Analysis: Subgroup

It is evident from their post-test that these students were unable to achieve the concept. One
student achieved zero and the other student scored 1 in post-test.
Based on my analysis of my pre-test, I had planned and implemented differentiated
instructions in my unit plan. I had provided ample opportunities for these students to
achieve the best score in the post-test. I had applied several methods to teach the concept of
subtraction like frame ten, number line, etc. however I now believe that I was unable to
achieve the desired outcome.

Post-Assessment Analysis: Subgroup and Remainder of Class

The remainder class is on approaching level and will exceed with more opportunities for practice. As I
was able to achieve 75% of my objectives after checking the written assignment, I was sure that my
students will be able to achieve the expected level or exceeding level especially a few students who
solved the sums correctly and were able to answer the question quickly. (This was visible in the video).
The post-test results indicate that more practice is required with a variety of sums.
After the results of post-tests and my discussion with my co-op teacher, we have planned to reteach
the unit, especially the objective Standard(s) MGSE2.NBT.5: Fluently adds and subtracts within 100
using strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between
addition and subtraction. Different activities/ strategies will be planned to engage students and to
enhance teaching and learning. Students will be provided the opportunity to work in pairs, groups and
individually. Different graphic organizers will also be used to enhance learning and to engage/involve
students.
