Levels of organizations
The living organism is made up of parts which are divided into levels. The lowest level
of any living organism is a cell. The other levels are tissue; then there is organ. Organs then work
together as an organ system. The highest level of organization is the organism. Some living
things are made up of only one cell while others are multicellular. The cell is the smallest
building blocks of any living thing.
Many cells make up a tissue. Tissue work to perform specialized tasks for the survival of
the organism. For example, epithelial tissues, nervous tissues, muscle tissues, and connective

m
tissues. The tissues perform a particular function different from the other tissues. For example,

er as
epithelial tissues cover surfaces of the body such as internal cavity such as the esophagus.

co
Epithelial tissues also form glands. The nervous tissues enable communication of the body

eH w
systems by carrying electrical signals through the body. The muscle tissues are responsible for

o.
movement in and out of the body by rhythmically contracting and relaxation. The connective
rs e
tissues as the name suggest binds and support body system to be able to work as one.

The next level is an organ which is formed by tissues working together. All animals have
organs. Examples of essential organs in the human body are; brain, kidney, liver, lungs, and the
o

heart. Organs work together to form an organ system. There are many organ systems in the
aC s

human body, for instance. Reproductive system, digestive system, nervous system, endocrine
vi y re

system, musculoskeletal system, respiratory system, cardiovascular system, urinary system,

immune system, excretory system are some of the organ systems in human. Organ system
ensures that homeostasis is maintained. The organ systems together form an organism.
