Like me everyone who has work experiences “no work no pay” and
difficult to earn money for their living. Others have a solution to keep
their work like “Home-based” for the BPO companies but others not.
6. Which do you think is the strongest topic and why? You may discuss your arguments in 5- 7
sentences. You may include previous reading or preliminary search results.
For me, the strongest topic is “Stress and adversity during this pandemic can
increase risk for depression.” Because not only me but everyone suffers from this,
it’s just it how one’s handles it. Stress comes from bereavement, isolation, loss of
income and fear are triggering mental health conditions or exacerbating existing
ones. COVID-19 itself can lead to neurological and mental complications, such as
delirium, agitation, and stroke. People with pre-existing mental, neurological or
substance use disorders are also more vulnerable to SARS-CoV-2 infection ̶ they
may stand a higher risk of severe outcomes and even death. AFSP encourages
everyone to engage in an open, honest dialogue with their friends and loved ones,
to demonstrate compassion and kindness, and to practice self-care by exercising,
meditating, and consuming the news in measured doses. And, reach out to those
who may be isolated and need the extra support. These actions can save lives and
positively change our collective culture surrounding mental health for the long-
term. We hope these tools help you to spread positive messages of hope,
compassion, mental health care and suicide prevention.
