Learning Objective 12.1: The student will make a formal oral presentation
in a group or individually
a) Choose vocabulary, language, and tone appropriate
to the audience, topic, and purpose
b) Use media, visual literacy, and technology skills to
create and support the presentation.

In this activity, my students are going to use Prezi to create a presentation that
illustrates a key theme for each of their three chosen character from Othello by
Shakespeare using images and quotes.
Pedagogy Planning

Activity
1. The teacher will go over the conclusion of
Othello and have a class discussion surrounding
it.
2. Afterwards, the Prezi presentation assignment
will be introduced to the students. The teacher
will discuss requirements of choosing three
characters, one quote for each as a minimum,
an analysis, and creativity. Students should not
have paragraphs of text in their presentation.
3. From there, an example presentation will be
shown and how a student should conduct their
presentation.
4. There will also be a tutorial for how to use
Prezi. During this, the teacher will showcase
different presets and mechanics. Questions will
be taken after this.
5. Students will have twenty minutes of class time
to get started. During this, they can ask more
questions or inquire about any other concerns.
Pedagogy

6. On the following week, students must present

their presentations in front of class.

Mobile App Option
1. There’s Prezi view, but as the name
implies, it is solely meant for viewing Prezi
presentations and one cannot edit. It is on
both the Apple store and the Google Store.
2. As an alternative, I can have some students
use Google Slides. It will not be as engaging
but does not require a up to date device.
Other than that, there is Zoho Show –
Presentation Tool which is very similar to
Prezi. The application on the Apple Store
and Google Store allows for editing.
