Throughout the lesson, learners participate in book discussions. Students were

asked questions in ASL and discussed in sign and English. Students also created

creating work samples such as writings and drawings. As a class, we also worked on

guided reading. Working as a team we created a CAN, ARE, HAVE chart to keep a

record of what we learned through our unit. Students were encouraged to share their

past knowledge. We played a game where students compare their bodies to alligator

bodies.
