III. PROCEDURE
Motivation
We have a mission! We must help the deer to
cross river so that he can eat his food, but the
problem is how will the deer cross the river? We
must trick the crocodiles who are eyeing the deer
as his food. In order to complete this mission we
must unlock the definition of the unfamiliar
words.
A. Analysis
Our lesson for today is all about the
Malaysian folktale entitled “Outwitting a
Crocodile”.
We will have an activity. I will group you
to two groups. The right group and left
group. if you know the answer to my
questions raise your hand if you belong to
right group and left hand if you belong to
left group. 2 points each.
B. Abstraction
We will have another activity. You are
going to compare and contrast Sang
Kancil, Sang Buaya and yourself through
the Venn Diagram.
Yes, that’s right you need to be GROUP 1: Your character is Sang Kancil.
resourceful and smart in life if you want to
survive in this world full of problems. Sang Kancil is resourceful and clever mouse deer,
because he outwitted the big and bad crocodile,
Is/are there any positive traits of Sang Sang Buaya.
Buaya in the folktale?
That’s right. It’s the nature of a crocodile GROUP 2: Your character is Sang Buaya.
to look for a food which is meat, just like
in real life it’s also our nature sometimes Sang Buaya is simple minded/practical ma’am,
to easily trust someone because we also because he just shows that we need food in order
want to move forward or be benefited. to survive, it’s just their nature to look for a meat
to eat ma’am.
D. Agreement
For your take home activity. I want you to
write about your experience/s where you
outwit someone and when you are fooled
by someone just like the folktale
“Outwitting a crocodile”.
