1.0 Documentation, Certification and Performance Data


Review the manufacturer’s documentation & equipment data.

Check that all relevant instruction manuals, workshop manuals and spare parts

COMMENT :
2.0 Mechanical Installation Verification
Ensure all safety risks have been identified and control measures are in place. This
2.1 may include but is not limited to JSA, correct PPE, lock out /
tag out, work permits, safety barriers etc.
Check that the BOP remote controls are working & automatically return to neutral

when released.
Typically the rig should carry out a static load test to 125% of the SWL. In
addition a brake performance test at 100% SWL while stopping the BOP load 3
2.3 times during lowering is acceptable.
Comment:

Check that the Safe Working Load is clearly marked on the Triangular plate of

2.5 Check that stoppers are installed on the Trolley beams to stop the trolley
Check that the weights of the control hoses to the remote are well supported, and

that there is no weight on the fittings.

Operate the BOP winch trolley to both the extreme travel points along the beam.
4.1 Ensure that both trolleys move in unison.

Simulate lifting a load to the maximum position and lowering the load by

extending and retracting the main cylinder to its extremes
Hook up the BOP load and pick up off the ground 3 inches. Try to move the
